Dear All,

It's been awhile I haven't given you any updates and I thought to share with you now some accomplishments and progress of our organization. Our succeeding updates will be prepared by our new Corporate Secretary Roxanne Abano-Jocson in a monthly or bi-monthly basis depending on the number of exciting projects we have on hand.

1. Our national office based in Cebu finally opened its first ever bank account with BPI. You can start sending your remittances to this account under the care of our Treasurer General Minda Serrano-Torre.

BIR Official Receipts are also available from TG Minda.

Thanks to Cebu RH Vicvic Alciso-Adriano, TG Minda, other Cebu officers and volunteered bank co-signatories who all made this possible.

2. The Cebu group gave the national office a 30% share out of its proceeds from their "raffle for a Cause" fundraiser held last January 24. The Cebu group has recently rescheduled their combined big party to an undetermine date yet in celebration of mix blessings (retirement/ birthdays/personal achievements) experienced by some of its members. I am sure RH Vicvic will soon give us an update.
Kudos to our friends in Cebu!

3. Manila RH Portia Abano-Alba will turn over sometime next week the FOBI national office funds (as turned over to her by former TG Annie Asido-Sarmiento) to our new BPI Cebu Account.
I believed she will also remit the 30% share out of their "Family Bingo Social" fundraiser proceeds to our national coffer.

RH Portia and her fellow co-organizers are still preparing the "Winners List and Prizes" and "The Supporters/ Donors List", basically those who bought and played the Bingo tickets and/or donated back their winnings last May 16 in U.P. Diliman.

Kudos to the Manila group....and thanks for the patience of those waiting for the above reports/ results.

In preparation for FOBI's major Charity work comes December this year, RH Portia decided to cancel the planned Golf Tournament scheduled in August...to my big relief.

The Manila group who is spearheading the "Christmas Gift Giving" to the indigent children of Bislig scheduled on December 5, are currently accepting pledges for this cause, and at the same time is accepting payments now for pledges made since January this year. The payment deadline will be on September 30. Let us support the Manila group to make this a great success being one of FOBI's charity project.

4. The New York/ U.S. Eastcoast Group is still preparing their financial statement for their recently concluded "Dinner Dance Gala" fundraiser last May 16 along with the affair's journal summarizing the events and a list of those who supported the cause. After then that RH Bebot Urbiztondo-Pugh will be able to share the momentous journal and give their generous share to the national coffer.
Kudos to you all!

The New York group will also have its own "Raffle for a Cause" fundraiser this coming December 5, proceeds of which will go to the addition of a Bislig Church pews and the repair of a School's fences in the vicinity of Bislig.

5. Our Bislig Group's best has still to come and in fact they are getting busier by the day.

They will practically be doing the legwork before and during the CGG charity project. This will be a joint effort for both Bislig and Manila.

Our Bislig RH Bert Dormendo has many commitments in various businesses and NGO's he is a member to and simply don't have the time to join us in the boardroom meetings. Surigao del Sur's provincial board member Nap Velez who is our FOBI treasurer along with Norma "Linlin" Urbiztondo-Guerrero, a JBC-DLS English teacher and FOBI Secretary are both our spokesperson for the Bislig group. What a duo they are....

Nap is currently working on the possible accreditation of FOBI as an NGO entity in order to avail of any possible loans or grants required to realize our dream in Bislig.

A month ago, our very own Joji Delima introduced me by phone to Dept. Of Agriculture Undersecretary Atty. Bernie Fondevilla, a very close family friend of theirs. I have expressed to Usec Atty. Fondevilla of our group's desire to help the people of Bislig gain employment thru livelihood projects big and small. Atty. Fondevilla is very receptive and accomodating in our talks and is now waiting for our Bislig group's proposals and meeting with them in Q.C. He will help us!! I will arrange for Messrs. Dormendo and Velez' appointment with Atty. Fondevilla anytime from July 21 onwards...

There are 4 proposals, namely: Goat raising, Pig raising, Fertilizer production and Duck raising, which are all being prepared by our province's assistant Agriculturist Esmer Odtojan based in Tandag. He is assisted by our Bislig VP lou Polina. It is another blessing to have Esmer with us.
Kudos and more power to you folks!

The Bislig group will also look at on a rural elementary school where we could give a full support to some of its improvements.

6. Our Treasurer General will soon make a campaign that all members of our forum are paid/ registered members of our organization. Let us support her and the organization as a whole. I will be behind her !

I will be happy to share with you some facts and figures and more details on any issues mentioned above if you wish to. I wrote this report based on memory and away from my records.

The FOB Bislig Group was finally organized on January 24, 2009 after 2 sets of meetings held at Highland Farmhouse in the morning and Gail's Ice Cream in the afternoon. Kudos to Ms. Tess Campos-Ines and with the help of Mr. Virgilio "Jing" Quijada for spearheading the organizing and appointments. And to many others who had made this event very memorable.
